Detectives have been working to develop leads in an armed robbery that took place in October and are now asking for help from the community. The 25-year-old victim, who is deaf and mute, was standing in the 8300 N.40th St waiting for a bus in the early morning hours of October 13. The suspect was described as a 20-30-year-old black male, approximately 6', 150 pounds, with short hair, and multiple tattoos on his arms. He was wearing diamond earrings in each ear and was armed with a black handgun.
The suspect approached the victim, pulled a black handgun from his waistband and used it to strike the victim in the head multiple times. The suspect then grabbed a small black bag the victim was holding in his hand, before fleeing in a gray or silver newer model Ford pick-up truck. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including lacerations to his head.
The composite sketch was developed based on the victim’s recollection of events. Tampa Police Detectives are now asking our community to look closely at the sketch and see if it resembles someone they may know. Anyone who may be able to provide information that can help detectives identify and apprehend this suspect, is asked to contact Crimestoppers of Tampa Bay at 800.873.TIPS.
