Tampa Solid Waste Department Revises Service Collection Due to Tropical Storm Elsa

As a result of the impacts of Tropical Storm Elsa, City of Tampa solid waste services are being affected as follows: 

  • McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House located at 114 S. 34th St., will be closing early, to the general public, at 1:30 p.m. today, July 6, 2021. The Transfer Station and Scale House will be closed Wednesday, July 7, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 12 noon or as weather conditions improve. Normal operating hours will resume Thursday, July 8, 2021.
  • Commercial collection will be delayed on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Commercial service will begin at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 or as weather conditions improve. Commercial service will run one to two (1 - 2) days behind schedule. Regular collection service schedules will resume Monday, July 12, 2021.
  • Residential collection will not be affected. Residential service will resume as scheduled on Thursday, July 8, 2021.
