Primary Details
This project provides for the construction of a new sludge dewatering facility and improvements to the Standby power facility at the Howard F. Curren AWTP. The new dewatering facility will include the construction of a 3-story structure to house 3 sludge dewatering centrifuges, truck scales, conveyors, polymer system, and electrical and control equipment. The Standby power improvements include the installation an additional 2,000 KW diesel generator and two (2) 30,000-gallon fuel tanks.
The treatment plant project will restore the plant’s reliability by replacing aging equipment and will include improvements to reduce vulnerability to extreme weather events and sea level rise. The project will also enhance the treatment plant processes with modern technology which will increase the plant’s treatment and operating efficiency.
