Tampa Police responded to the report of an assault in the 1500 block of N. Nebraska Ave on Tuesday evening. Officers arrived to find an adult black male in his mid-thirties with upper body trauma. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Although early in the investigation, this does not appear to be a random incident.
The suspect is described as a black male in his early to mid-thirties who was wearing a gray shirt and gray jogging pants. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a black SUV, possibly a Nissan. Detectives are currently gathering evidence and working to develop additional leads in this case to identify and apprehend the suspect.
