TAMPA, FL. (September 30, 2024)- In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, our community is beginning the lengthy recovery process. Eleven Tampa Police officers and their families were displaced from their homes due to the storm.
Rise Tampa, Our Police Foundation, is assisting to support those officers in their time of need. Thanks to a generous donation from a concerned local community member, each officer will receive a significant financial donation to assist their families as they rebuild their lives.
“Our first responders showed the true hearts of public servants as they put their own concerns aside to keep others safe,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Hurricane Helene caused devastating losses throughout our community, and we are thankful for the support.”
As we all continue to navigate the recovery process, the generosity and concern for our first responders and essential professional staff means more to us than we can put into words.
Thank you for the Tampa Police Benevolent Association and Rise Tampa for the partnership and support.
