2025 Miss Asia Pacific Pageant and Singing Idol Contest Set for May 3

The City of Tampa Mayor’s Asian American Pacific Islander Advisory Council is proud to host the 2025 Miss Asia Pacific Scholarship Pageant and Asia Pacific Singing Idol Contest set for Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Barksdale Senior Center, 1801 N. Lincoln Ave., Tampa. Doors open at noon for lunch, with the program beginning at 2:00 p.m. Ticket pre-registration is required.

With the upcoming month of May being Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the event aims to highlight cultural traditions, celebrate local talent, and support academic advancement within Tampa’s AAPI community.

The program will feature vocal performances from contestants in the Asia Pacific Singing Idol Contest, followed by the Miss Asia Pacific Scholarship Pageant. The pageant includes national costume displays and a judged question-and-answer segment. Judges will represent Hillsborough County Public Schools, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, and the Tampa City Council.

“We’re proud to support events like this that showcase our talented residents and open doors for future leaders in Tampa’s AAPI community,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “It’s always exciting to celebrate culture while helping these young people take the next step in their education.”

With support from the City of Tampa, the Mayor’s AAPI Advisory Council has successfully hosted the Tampa AAPI Festival each year, bringing thousands together at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park for the city’s largest celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander cultures. The AAPI Advisory Council remain committed to promoting civic engagement and cultural understanding through the upcoming scholarship pageant and singing contest.
