To celebrate Round 1 of the playoffs and ignite fervor among fans, the City of Tampa, in partnership with the Lightning, will host a banner drop on Wednesday, April 16, outside Old City Hall.
The public, along with members of the media, are invited to join in the kickoff to the playoff season, which will feature an appearance from beloved mascot, ThunderBug, along with the energetic Blue Crew, esteemed Lightning Alumni, Lightning executives, Mayor Jane Castor and City staff.
The team is heading back to the playoffs for the eighth consecutive season.
The banner drop is planned for 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 16, at the corner of E Jackson St and N Florida Ave in downtown Tampa.
