Tampa, FL (Wednesday, September 7, 2022) - An arrest warrant has been issued for 24-year-old Derick P. Bowden on the charges of First Degree Murder and Felon in Possession of a firearm.
Just before midnight on August 24th, 2022, Tampa Police were dispatched to a ShotSpotter detection in the 2900 block of N. 50th St. Officers located a 26-year-old male laying on the ground, in the parking lot of the Shell gas station with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives immediately began developing leads in the case and identified Bowden as the suspect. Investigators believe this is not a random act as Bowden and the victim were known to each other. In addition, a criminal history check revealed Bowden has ten prior felony convictions.
