The City of Tampa will celebrate first-time homebuyer Tamara Virgil, the first recipient of the Housing Department’s new “Welcome Home Tampa” gift basket program. “The City and our community partners offer a wide variety of Housing programs and services like financial support, education, advisement, and more. Our goal is to provide residents with the critical tools and resources to ensure that homeownership is not only just an attainable dream, but an absolute reality,” said Kayon Henderson, City of Tampa Interim Manager of Housing

Ms. Tamara Virgil, a 30-year old single mom, completed her homebuyer education class via City partner Solita’s House in August 2018. She recently utilized the Dare to Own the Dream Homeownership (DARE) program, in which she received $30,000.00 of gap funding (approximately 17% of the purchase price).
