Tampa Police responded to the report of ‘shots heard’ in the 20100 block of Weeping Laurel Place early Tuesday afternoon. It is reported that the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Jeremy Green (8/17/1990), and the 25-year-old victim are acquainted with each other. Green and the victim were engaged in a verbal altercation which escalated when Green first kicked the victim’s car causing damage. Green then went inside the garage and grabbed a baseball bat. The victim shot Green as he approached him with the baseball bat in an aggressive manner. The victim has been cooperative with investigators as they work this case.
Green was transported to a nearby hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He remains in the hospital at this time, charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
