Tampa Police Investigate Early Morning Homicide

Victim Info:  43-year-old black male (deceased); 29-year-old black male (deceased); 33-year-old black male (serious, stable condition); 32-year-old black male (serious, stable condition)

Suspect Info:  25-35-year-old black male, thin build, approximately 135-155 pounds, last seen wearing a black baseball cap, dark-colored COVID face mask, black shirt, white sneakers.

Tampa Police responded to the report of a shooting early Saturday morning at E. 7th Ave near N. 20th St. 

The suspect was reported to have approached E. 7th Ave from N. 20th St, where he intentionally fired multiple times toward the unsuspecting victims. The suspect then fled northbound along N. 20th St. before officers arrived. The suspect was reported to be a 25-35-year-old black male, thin build, approximately 135-155 pounds, last seen wearing a black baseball cap, dark-colored COVID face mask, black shirt, and white sneakers.

Officers first on scene provided first aid after locating the victims; while other officers combed the area in an attempt to locate and apprehend the suspect. Tampa Fire Rescue transported the victims to nearby hospitals. Two of the victims died as a result of their injuries. The other two victims remain hospitalized in serious, but stable, condition.

While it is early in the investigation, this does not appear to be a random incident. Detectives continue to gather evidence and are working with local business owners to determine if any valuable surveillance video may be available.
