A Tampa Police officer was injured in a crash on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM, as he was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Adamo Drive near N. 26th St . The 54-year-old Hispanic female driver of a red Honda Accord, crossed southbound along Adamo Drive, cutting in front of the officer, and colliding with the police motorcycle.
The 38-year-old officer was transported to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries, including a possibly fractured femur.
The driver of the Honda was not injured and remained on scene, cooperating with the investigation. She was cited for violation of the right of way with serious bodily injury.
Traffic along Adamo Drive, between N. 22nd St and N. 34th St, was re-routed during the investigation.
