This information is 2 years old and may no longer be accurate.

The City of Tampa will close city offices on Thursday due to Tropical Storm Nicole. Current forecasts indicate that Nicole will become a hurricane later today, with tropical storm force winds expected in the Tampa Bay Area later today into Thursday.

“I encourage everyone to review their disaster supply kits, and ensure they have supplies including medicine, water, and non-perishable food,” Mayor Jane Castor said. “The City of Tampa will continue to monitor the path and trajectory of the storm. We remain in constant contact with all state and local government partners.”

In preparation for Nicole, residents are also encouraged to secure items like patio furniture, decorations, and plants around their homes or properties so they do not become projectiles.

City of Tampa Solid Waste Services will be suspended beginning Thursday and will resume normal service Monday, November 14, 2022.
