City Center at Hanna Ave celebrates art and community with “Meet the Artist” event

This information is 11 months 1 week old and may no longer be accurate.

The newly opened City Center at Hanna Avenue is proud to announce a “Meet the Artist” event featuring Nneka Jones, the artist behind the Tampa-inspired piece on display inside the center lobby.

Jones spent months teaching the skill of embroidery to community members in East Tampa who handmade the work of art. The piece now serves a sense of pride for the nearby residents who contributed to the finished product.

Their journey to completing the piece can be seen below.
