City of Tampa and Partners team up to Protect Fan Visitors and Residents for Big Game

This information is 3 years 8 months old and may no longer be accurate.

To help the City of Tampa prepare to protect fans and visitors in the week leading up to the big game, two community partners have stepped up to provide nearly 350,000 face masks for distribution. American Surgical Mask Co., a 3-ply disposable mask manufacturer based in Tampa, FL, has donated upwards of 200,000 masks, while the US Conference of Mayors via Marco DeGeorge of Bella and Canvas has generously donated 150,000 face masks.

Last Thursday, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor issued an Executive Order requiring masks to be worn outside in all Super Bowl Event Zones and City of Tampa entertainment districts. Masks are also required in any indoor location when social distancing cannot be maintained.

Those areas include:

  • Tampa Riverwalk
  • Downtown Tampa
  • Ybor City
  • SoHo Bar District
  • Channel District

“We are thankful to have such incredible community partners who are encouraging safe behavior while everyone enjoys the sights and sounds of the best of what Tampa has to offer”, says Mayor Castor. “Without partners like American Surgical Mask Co. and the US Conference of Mayors, we would not be able to provide this service to our residents and visitors during Super Bowl LV.”
