Each District is partitioned into Sectors and then further classified by Zones and Grids. This information is used to determine how calls for police service are routed and field units patrol areas.

In Sector A, the southern boundary varies from Kennedy Blvd to I275 and then north to the city limits just north of Hillsborough Ave. It is bordered on the east side by the Hillsborough River, and on the west by the city limits through Tampa International Airport to the Courtney Campbell Causeway & Veterans Expressway.
