The 9-1-1 Communications Center receives requests for emergency and non-emergency services from the public and other various agencies. The Communications Center dispatches the appropriate apparatus to handle each request for service, documents the response and action of dispatched units.
The mission of the Communications Section is to provide effective and efficient communications between the citizens requesting police, fire, or medical service and the units who respond. Additionally, the Communications Section endeavors to expeditiously provide various other support services for police, fire and administrative operations. The Communications Section is central to the fire/police function. Every call for service is received, recorded, dispatched and concluded in this area.
