Sea Level Rise and Resiliency Grants

Sea Level Rise and Resiliency Grants

The City of Tampa and the Stormwater Engineering Division are actively involved in studying and addressing the future impacts of sea level rise on our stormwater systems.

In August 2019, the Stormwater Engineering Division received a $75,000 grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to develop a Vulnerability Analysis for critical stormwater systems located in areas susceptible to sea level rise.

Please find a copy of that analysis below.

In July 2021, the Stormwater Engineering Division received another $75,000 grant from the FDEP to build upon the initial Vulnerability Analysis and to focus on a specific basin within the City of Tampa for further analysis. The City initiated the Davis Islands Stormwater Analysis to study a coastal basin susceptible to rising sea levels. The analysis entailed survey and data collection of the existing stormwater system, an outfall analysis, and development of adaptation strategy actions.

Join us for a Live Presentation on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 9:00 AM, as we discuss the results and next steps of the Davis Islands Stormwater Analysis.
