City of Tampa Kids Take Part in World's Largest Swim Lesson

Today, thousands of children around the globe are participating in the 14th annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL) to help beat the single leading cause of unintended death of children ages 1-4.

A global event, The World's Largest Swim Lesson™, will be taking place over the course of 24 hours at hundreds of aquatic centers, swim schools and waterparks.

Research by the American Academy of Pediatrics shows participation in formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning for kids ages 1-4 by 88%.

In Tampa, Danny Del Rio Pool will be serving as an official Host Location Facility for the WLSL 2023 event. Other participating Tampa Parks & Rec pools include: Bobby Hicks, Copeland, Cyrus Greene, Cuscaden,  Loretta Ingraham, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Interbay, Roy Jenkins, Spicola, and Sulphur Springs.
