We carry out many projects to improve parks, promote public safety, and enhance the aesthetics of the park facilities for the overall enjoyment of all our residents. Our Planning and Design Team is responsible for park planning, parkland acquisition, park master planning, design, and construction oversight for the development of new - or renovation of existing - neighborhood, community and regional parks, greenways and trails, and open space throughout the City.
We itemize the replacement and repair of park facilities and amenities through a Capital Improvement Program (CIP), a prioritized list of infrastructure improvements that guides long-term investment and rehabilitation throughout the park system.
The CIP is a short-range schedule of public improvement projects (such as parks) to occur over five years and includes project descriptions, costs, and sources of funding. Park projects are funded through the city general fund, bonds, and grants.
