(Commercial Applicators)
A Commercial Fertilizer Applicator is any person who applies fertilizer on turf and/or landscape plants in the City of Tampa in exchange for money, goods, services, or other valuable consideration.
Requirements for Commercial Applicators

All commercial fertilizer applicators and their supervisors, as well as governmental and institutional fertilizer applicators must attain training and certification in fertilizer application practices as required by the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County (EPC) Rule

Commercial applicators and their supervisors must keep a copy of their certification with them during fertilizer application activities

A vehicle decal issued by the EPC or other authorized organization must be affixed on the exterior of all vehicles used by the Company in connection with fertilizer application and landscape maintenance activities
- All commercial and institutional applicators, site supervisors, and managers of professional landscape maintenance companies, government and institutional landscape supervisors, and any employee of a lawn and landscape maintenance company performing landscape maintenance shall comply with Florida-Friendly Best Management Practices for Protection of Water Resources

Commercial fertilizer applicators must abide by all other fertilizer application and landscape management requirements specified in both the City of Tampa Fertilizer Ordinance and the EPC Fertilizer Use and Landscape Management Rule
The City of Tampa Ordinance is supplemental to existing regulations established by the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County.
